Insurance Planners

Insurance is a vital part of any Financial Life Plan. Yet in most cases, insurance is handled completely separately. That means there’s an inherent disconnect between the financial house you’re building and what you’re protecting.

At Korhorn Financial Group, our insurance team works in concert with our financial planning and tax planning colleagues to provide recommendations based on every aspect of your financial life. By offering a deep level of insurance expertise in-house, we’re able to carefully align this important piece of the planning process with your financial big picture to help smooth your path to a more secure future.

JANET HERREMAN, CISR

Insurance Advisor

After being a stay-at-home mom for a few years to her two boys, Janet took a part-time job in an insurance office as a receptionist. Her role quickly grew to a full-time licensed insurance agent in 1992. Janet had been the servicing agent for Korhorn Financial and the Korhorn Financial Group since we began the insurance division in 2006.

It was with good timing and God’s direction that Janet came to KFG Insurance to serve our clients. Her primary role is helping families with situational changes such as marriage, divorce, children moving out on their own, or simply moving to a new location. In this role she is able to educate clients to help them make the best decision for their needs.

In addition to her two sons, she has a stepson, granddaughter, 5 step-grandchildren, and three wonderful daughters-in-law. On summer weekends Janet and her husband, Brian, often fly one of their small vintage airplanes to “fly-ins.” In her free time, Janet enjoys traveling with her husband, hiking, cooking, spoiling grandchildren, and rooting for the Bears.

TARA PERKINS

Staff Accountant / QuickBooks ProAdvisor

In 2006, when the last of Tara’s four children had completed their homeschooling and were on their way to other projects, she was ready for full-time employment with a firm that shared her core values of serving God and helping clients. Happily, a family member who is a friend of KFG suggested that her 20-year part-time experience with tax prep and QuickBooks accounting might be the perfect fit. KFG was in the process of enlarging the Tax and Business department, and Tara was an ideal addition. Tara says she never imagined that an employer like KFG existed and that God would provide this opportunity for her.

Tara’s focuses on internal accounting for all KFG departments and serving our clients with accounting and reviews, as well as supporting our tax team. She maintains her QuickBooks ProAdvisor status and tax prep readiness through regular training and certification testing.

Tara is delighted to serve at the KFG location in Niles where she and her husband, Wayne, are long-time residents. Tara and Wayne enjoy weekend cookouts with friends and family. Tara volunteers as a Sunday School teacher at their church and serves at the local Senior Center each spring. She loves reading and watching Pride and Prejudice (the long version, of course!).
